Parzival

Parzival meets three elegant knights and decides to seek King Arthur so that he may go on a spiritual and physical search for the Holy Grail, the cup used to catch the blood that flowed from the crucified Christ. Along the way we read of his adventures and the ultimate winning the hand of the maiden Orgeluse. The book shows the importance of humility, compassion, sympathy and the quest for spirituality. Parzival is heroic. His traits are his thoughtfulness and his bravery. His initial flaw is his youthful ignorance but this is soon forgotten when we see his bravery. Wolfram's Parzival* is rightly regarded as one of the great works of Western literature. It presents a search for chivalric virtues and ideals.
