Beskrivelse
Palliative care is a growing area in the undergraduate medical curriculum, with many schools adopting a case-based approach to teaching. This text uses a series of cases to illustrate critical points in palliative medicine. A feature of the book is the match-up of the case discussions with curricular objectives. The contributing authors use their case discussions to illustrate the desired attitudes, skills, and knowledge outlined in the curriculum. Chapters discuss sleep disorders, ethics, cultural issues and anorexia-cachexia, as well as the more commonly considered areas. This book is intended for undergraduate medical students, residents and training physicians, nurses and practicing clinicians working in palliative care.
