O.W. Gurley was the self-made businessman responsible for the existence of the thriving Greenwood community in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the early 1900s. Greenwood was popularly known as "Black Wall Street." This nonfiction biography is the story of how one man transformed a 40-acre parcel of land into one of the richest African American communities, and the tragedy that struck that community.
