Beskrivelse
Maddie, a call-taker stuck in a workaday job, notices something unusual when a client's wife calls the centre to file a claim, but the client retracts the same claim the following day. What prompted the man to behave in that way? What's going on?
Maddie becomes curious about the policyholder's dual existence and wonders about his intentions and mindset.
Delving deeper into the man's deceit, Maddie recognizes parallels with her own father's conduct. The lies of both men expose a complex web of falsehood, misrepresentation, and infidelity. Why do they engage in duplicity?
Maddie acknowledges that trust problems can harm romantic relationships. And begins to recognise that in polygamous and bigamous relationships, women and children are regarded as objects. While building her case against the policyholder and her father, Maddie confronts a moral dilemma: should she expose their wrongdoing, break free from their deceit, and inform their victims? Or would it be kinder to pardon the men so their wives and daughters can be spared the torment?
