Between 1903 and 1964, when he laid down his camera for good, Ortiz Echag e (1886-1980) documented a vanishing, pre-industrial, rural Spain with heroic diligence, traveling thousands of miles to photograph communities and ways of life on the verge of extinction. This volume compiles some of his best-loved series.
