Beskrivelse
Maya Green's ORIGIN HUNGRY is a collection of poetry and essays exploring identity through many lenses: race, gender, relationships, inheritance, and belonging. Born of several family interviews, Green embarks on a journey stretching from the Middle Passage to the present in an attempt to determine where and how she fits in the world at large. "Maybe it's the growing up that does it, but I'm origin-hungry. There is a gaping cavern in my stomach waiting for genesis. I want to gorge myself on a pie of our beginning, juice smeared on bulging cheeks."
