Optimistic Appraisal

"Optimistic Appraisal" is a dramatic play about love trials, life lessons, facing the truth, overcoming past hurts, triumphs, and resolutions. Candice Davis is married to Ricardo Davis, a police officer. Ricardo's life is cut short at a community event for the youth. Candice as a single mother raises her daughter, Latasha. Candice and her daughter meet Quinton Jackson who attempts to sweep Candice off her feet. The relationship between Candice and Quinton comes to an almost tragic end, after a shocking discovery from his past. Latasha meets a guy while interning at a local newspaper. In the midst of Candice celebrating Latasha's acceptance into college. There is a surprise toward the end , as Candice one evening is unexpectedly startled and meets and soon after marries a man who becomes the love of her life. The ending is a tear-jerker as Latasha officiates over the ceremony, that honors one of the fallen heroes, her father, Ricardo Davis.
