Beskrivelse

Faced with the significant production of waste by health establishments and the high proportion of hazardous waste, initiatives have been developed everywhere to ensure its environmentally sound disposal. Also, due to its affordability and environmental efficiency, pyrolytic combustion incineration has been identified by most African countries as the technological option for safer disposal of sanitary waste. These guidelines aim to improve the use of incinerators by all players in the health waste management sector. They define their tasks as well as their roles and responsibilities, and aim to strengthen local technical, logistical and organizational arrangements with a view to improving the management of the health district incinerator. This tool is intended for medical students, students of environmental sciences, the Ministries in charge of Health, the Environment, and Sustainable Development. It is also aimed at local authorities, private structures and associations responsible for waste management.
