Opera, Orchids and Oz is the conclusion of Hazel's story, begun in Heaven Tempers the Wind.

She longed for freedom from her tyrannical father and from the constraints within her country. Her desires are fulfilled in Australia, when she marries the man of her dreams, but grief is not far off.



The theme of this book is grief, love and joy-the love shared between Colin and Hazel-and how they come to accept their loss. Intertwined with this is the recurring theme of the love of family.
