One Plus One Is Two

Massachusetts, 1968: Marielle Morin is twenty-eight and can barely get through a children's book. Her lifelong struggle with reading and writing forced her to drop out of school when she was fourteen. Her experiences as a student in the Boston Public Schools inspire her to start an advocacy group and fight to improve education for disabled children. But she is unable to move forward from her own childhood, and her reasons for wanting to help the disabled turn out to be not as altruistic as people think.
