In the author's words, "Just as in my book, A is For Apple Tree and Amazing, I wanted to write a counting book that would be positive, engaging, and filled with beautiful and original art created by my family. In this counting companion book, One is For Owl and Optimistic Counting To Ten Is Realistic, numbers one through ten have been written in word form into nice sentences of their own accompanied by enthusiastic nouns, adjectives, and adverbs that begin with the same letters. My hope was that this book would help the children eagerly learn to read and to terrifically count to ten. I hope that you will think that I have achieved this goal and that you will enjoy this realistic book."
