Beskrivelse
One of the most basic systems in quantum mechanics is a two-level atom interaction with a single quantized mode of a radiation field as theoretically described by famous Jaynes and Cummings model. Combining various techniques from atomic, laser, spectroscopy, low temperature, superconductivity and vacuum physics this case is experimentally realized using the One-atom-maser, where the interaction of a single atom with a single mode of a high-Q cavity is investigated. In this work besides the short theoretical background the detailed description of such an One-atom-maser system is presented from an overview and characterization of different experimental parts to the main measurements of the quantum features of the maser field.
