Beskrivelse
"Old Lesbian Memory Quilt" is a memoir of a Lesbian born in 1937, only 18 years after women were "given" the right to vote. The idea for this book began by the author's creation of a lovingly hand-crafted quilt, pictured on the cover, for her 80th birthday. Edie Daly's stories are harvested from journals that she has kept throughout her lifetime. They are organized into chapters like pieces of a quilt, stitched together with pictures to illustrate the chapters of her life. Starting with her "coming out" story, Edie recounts formative experiences in her birth family, her youth, her marriage to a man, raising three children as a single parent, her radical Lesbian activism and, at age 60, finding love with Jackie Mirkin and joyfully beginning a shared life of activism.
