Beskrivelse
Jacob Böhme or Behmen was a German philosopher, Christian mystic and Lutheran Protestant theologian. His philosophical-religious oeuvre is remarkable for its richness and originality. It made an impact far beyond German borders, both to the East and to the West. G.W.F. Hegel referred to him as "the first German philosopher". Behmen had to defend his writings against religious and secular authorities alike.
Included : THE LIFE OF JACOB BEHMEN, The Teutonic Theosopher.
Behmen's nickname "philosophus teutonicus" has to do with the fact that he wrote in his German mother tongue rather than in Latin.
