The odontogenic septic processes are the most frequent infectious entities of the cervicofacial region, and in stomatological practice it is one of the conditions that most demand attention. Its correct management requires the preparation of professionals in microbiological, physiological, anatomical, semiological and pharmacological aspects. Therefore, an exhaustive bibliographic review was carried out with the objective of elaborating a bibliographic material that compiles and illustrates the main characteristics of odontogenic septic processes. The present topic was studied in depth, supported by multiple national and international bibliographic references. Primary care plays an essential role in the initial management of these conditions.
