Beskrivelse
Occupational risk is the probability that an employee exposed to a dangerous situation in the course of his or her work will suffer harmful effects on physical and mental health, and tarnish the company's image. These risks are classified as physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial. Employers and employees are required to take all reasonable precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the protection of workers' health and safety. This book is a bibliographical compilation on the concepts of occupational hazards, their identification and prevention methodology. The book provides advice and examples of reasonable precautionary and preventive measures for managing these major occupational health and safety hazards. These measures can be achieved through the following steps: (1) Elimination of risks, (2) Control of risk at source through engineering controls, (3) Minimization of risks through the study of safe work systems and administrative controls, and (4) Use of collective or personal protective equipment.
