Beskrivelse
Edward Clodd's pair of lectures on the subject of Occultism are delivered from the standpoint of a dedicated rationalist, and seek primarily to confront and expose charlatans among the spiritualists and other groups- phenomena such as seances, phrenology, dowsing, and apparitions are here mostly considered fraudulent. The 1920s indeed were an era of great decline away from some of the occultism of the mid and late 19th century. These would be replaced with other practices, and today we see the resurgence of some prior practices as well. For the occultist, this is an important work; skepticism should be applied to all individual phenomena and claims thereof.
