Obesity and regulation of food intake

Obesity  is a complex and multifactorial metabolic disease, which results from  the imbalance  between energy  expenditure and intake leading to increase gain in body weight and accumulation  of fats in the body. Various  feedback mechanisms regulate appetite, energy intake, and expenditure to maintain  energy homeostasis.  When these feedback  mechanisms are altered, energy balance  is disturbed and  body adiposity became unstable.
