This lexicon, authored by the renowned Byzantine scholar Photios I (ca. 820-891),was a comprehensive and practical dictionary and encylopedia. This edition of the work includes for the first timea significant text source that was recently discovered. Thisis an indispensible reference for Hellenists, Byzantinists, historians, and theologists. A fourth volume, slated to be released around 2014, will conclude the edition.
