Quality control and standardization of methodology have become increasingly important in nutritional epidemiology studies in order to improve the comparability and compatibility between laboratory and field results. Based on two workshops, organized in collaboration with the "Group of European Nutritionists", this book sets out to be an updated manual on the methodology for nutritional status assessment. Topics discussed include the methodology of body composition, physical fitness, energy balance, lipid patterns and protein, vitamin and mineral nutrition.
