Nucleic-Acid Electrochemistry

This first monograph dedicated to the electrochemistry of nucleic acids offers complete coverage of the field. Modern electrochemical methods, in connection with different electrode types, are able to detect DNA, RNA or their synthetics analogues at attomole or even lower levels. In recent years, significant progress was achieved in the development of electrochemical techniques and sensors for DNA hybridization, DNA damage, interactions of nucleic acids with drugs, genotoxic species and other small molecules, as well as DNA-protein interactions. These sensors are expected to become important tools in biomedicine and other areas of practical life of the 21st century.
