Christ the King, also called the Feast of Christ the King, is solemn in the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar. This celebration, introduced by Pope Pius XI in 1925, is normally observed on the final Sunday of the liturgical calendar, preceding the commencement of Advent. To honor Jesus Christ's sovereignty over all aspects of life, the feast is held. Christ the King highlights Jesus' authority as the King of the Universe, encompassing both the spiritual and earthly domains. It reminds Christians that Christ is the supreme ruler and the unifying force for all creation.
