In winter 2017/2018, Katja Schmitt fulfilled a lifelong dream and spent a month in New Zealand. The artist recorded her travel impressions on site in sketches and photographs and then processed her experiences at home in the studio with pastels in landscape paintings and in abstract watercolours. The book contains numerous excerpts from the sketchbooks and all the paintings completed so far.
