Orphaned and alone on the streets of London as a young child, Felica Cajelais learned to survive by her wits and how to emulate the wealthy noble women around her. By the time she came to America Felica was a charming, beautiful woman and a gifted card sharp. She chose New Orleans as her new home because an independent woman had more rights in that city than anywhere else in America or England. To her it was the perfect place to start a new life.
