Originally published in 1971, New Orleans Architecture Volume I: The Lower Garden District, has set the standard for the landmark, critically acclaimed, award-winning New Orleans Architecture Series.
The Lower Garden District, comprised of one of the most comprehensive nineteenth-century Greek Revival communities remaining in America, contains numerous stately mansions, plantation homes, country cottages, and sophisticated multifamily dwellings. This volume covers the area from Howard Avenue to Jackson Avenue, and from the Mississippi River to Claiborne Avenue.
