Beskrivelse
This book is for the resident doctors in field of neurosurgery. From day one of the residency some basic knowledge is expected from the resident doctors because the are already qualified doctors and are medical graduates or post graduates. But, in clinical practice it is very commonly seen that resident doctors face some difficulty in assessment of the neurosurgical patients. The management of patients in common clinical settings like out patient department (OPD), in patient department ( IPD) , Neurosurgical intensive care unit ( ICU, or in the neurosurgical Operation theater ( OT) requires certain skills which can be learnt easily. So, aim of the this book is to create a strong foundation of the neurosurgical training from the very beginning. Although this book is meant for the resident doctors but this will equally be useful for the senior neurosurgeons who are the mentors or senior consultants requiring the support of resident doctors for management of neurosurgical patients. The senior neurosurgeon need not to repeat the instructions and worry about the proper communication each time for every patients.
Because neurosurgery practice is usually very busy and requires lot of effort by all stake holders, there is very little time for developing a tailor made management approach for each patient. But every neurosurgical patient is different and requires a very specific approach. So, there is a need for a generic guide with all basic principles so that any junior doctor or young neurosurgeon will be confident in treating any neurosurgical patient in any clinical setting.
