Neural and Synergetic Computers deals with basic aspect ofthis rapidly developing field. Several contributions aredevoted to the application of basic concepts of synergeticsand dynamic systems theory to the constructionof neuralcomputers. Further topics include statistical approaches toneural computers and their design (for example by sparsecoding), perception motor control, and new types of spatialmultistability in lasers.
