Naughty Maisy

As far as Maisy Bentley is concerned, The Daily Express is the culprit. Without that newspaper, there would have been no competition and therefore no chance of her winning a home computer. And without the computer, a requirement for canes to support her Gerberas would have been addressed with a simple trip to the garden centre. Which in turn would have kept her away from a whole host of disreputable imagery that has been responsible for turning her life upside down.Of course, she has to concede that her late mother is at least partly to blame, a mother who kept her fetching and carrying and generally acting like her butler until she was well past her prime. Had she been allowed to go out into the world and met a man and started a family, well, her reaction to those various perversions on that little screen might not have been so pronounced...
