Beskrivelse
Naisola is a beautiful Kenyan girl who enjoys playing soccer, drawing amazing pictures, and discovering new adventures with her friends. One day, Naisola and her friends were playing soccer in the neighborhood. However, they ran into a disagreement, and two of her friends tried bending the rules a bit. The game stopped, and the friends were frustrated with each other. Naisola was great at coming up with solutions to her problems. She remembered what her cousins Likizo and Eshaka had mentioned about finding an answer to change her negative thoughts into positive ones that will bring joy and peace into a challenging situation. This story will help children figure out creative ways to excel in problem-solving. It promotes the importance of children enjoying the outdoors, physical activity, living a healthy lifestyle, and highlights the beauty in diversity. Children will learn how to turn negative feelings into positive emotions.
The themes represented in this book include creativity, friendship, diversity, inclusivity, kindness, value, family, acceptance, generosity, persistence, and growing up. All families will benefit from learning through the eyes of a child who excels at enhancing values in life and embracing her love for the outdoors and creativity.
Learn Swahili with Naisola. Marafiki means friends. A recipe for chapati (flatbread), sukuma wiki (kale, tomatoes, and onions vegetables), and ndengu (lentils) stew are included in the book. I hope this book will give you a glimpse of the beautiful Kenyan culture and bring out the importance of the role of a girl child in society. Black girls can accomplish great things too! They can play soccer, draw incredible pictures, and promote peace in challenging social settings too. Black girls have superpowers, too, just like all the other children in the world.
