Beskrivelse
Namibia accommodates a unique biodiversity while it is at the same time rich in natural resources and soon to become the second largest uranium producer. Using the concept of sustainable development, the book investigates the Namibian legal framework as to how it can deal with the tensions of exploitation related to natural resources for poverty reduction and the protection of the environment. Whether the customary laws of traditional and indigenous communities can influence mining operations is also discussed. A controversial topic in many African countries.
