In 1885 scholar and folklorist Edward Clodd set out to show how dreams and myths informed early humanitys interpretation of the physical world, as well as societys development and continuing belief in the supernatural. This book contains chapters on the personification of natural phenomena, beliefs in descent from animals and plants, omens, and dreams as communication between gods and men.
