In August 1945, Eric Nickels and his fellow soldiers are eagerly awaiting the announcement that Japan will surrender and bring World War II to an end. However, when the announcement is made, the message does not signal Japan's capitualion, but its intensions to continue the fight against the United States and its allies. Now Eric and his fellow soldiers must endure the unendurable as they prepare for the greatest invasion in history, the invasion of Japan herself.
