Beskrivelse
In between the mad bursts of the morning and the night, the traffic signals of a crazy, prosaic intersection of our lives reared their heads stronger. In the midst of these daily realities, in a cozy little home in Texas, USA, poetry and prose and the magic realism of words and art grew. Oblivious to the prosaic surroundings, a little girl was stringing her first garland of poetry and stories, and taking baby steps in her world of words cocooning her in motherly warmth. As destiny would have it, she might have caught the fancy, the addiction for it all from her mother poet-author Lopamudra Banerjee who saw life as an act of poetry in motion. Slowly, tenderly, she let the seed of her imagination, the sapling of her vision grow, and today, it is in front of you all. Sharanya, the 10-year-old, tender-hearted girl created a small bouquet of delectable poems on every aspect of human life she has experienced and felt about, with a sort of spiritual understanding that is unusual for her age. Her four fictional tales in the collection will take you to a joyride of mystery, adventure and the world of fables she is so very fond of, and derives insight from, in her own little way. We hope this slim volume will let you discover the little artist in her, and hope this is only the beginning of her journey to understand the depth of words and art. About Sharanya Banerjee Sharanya who is known as Rimli at home, lives in Texas, USA with her family. She is almost 10 years old and will be in fifth grade soon. She won Honorable Mention at the Kappa Theta Writing Project of Lewisville ISD, Texas for her short story entry titled 'An Adventure to Giggly Land', which is part of this book. My Unicorn is a Dove is her debut collection of poetry and stories which she started writing when she was eight years old, inspired by her mother who is an author. One of her favorite leisure activities is snuggling her mermaid blanket in a secret corner of her bedroom where many of her thoughts emerge. She also loves playing the violin, art and singing, cooking and baking with her dad, making creative things with websites and listening to music videos of Pentatonix. Note from Sharanya I am very excited about this book! I would like to thank all of my friends for being so supportive and kind about my journey, but the person I would like to thank the most is my mom. Without her love and support, I would have never finished this book. This book is dedicated to her!
