When India closed its doors to international surrogacy, Ukraine was open and waiting. Since it started to legally offer overseas clients a surrogacy option to fulfill their baby dreams in 2015, surrogacy in Ukraine has increased by 1000%. Bianca Smith and her husband were one of the first British couples to complete a surrogacy journey in Kiev. When they signed up with their surrogacy agency in October 2016, they found very little information, reviews or other couples to connect with, so they went in blind as they held their breaths hoping for the best. This book is an honest and transparent glimpse into their experiences and emotions - from deciding on surrogacy to bringing their babies home and heaps in between. This couple has led the way for a mass of other couples already, through their guidance, navigation through the legal processes of obtaining British passports for their babies and embarking on the British Parental Order process.Couples will need to follow the surrogacy laws of their own countries even when their babies are born via surrogacy in Ukraine. The biggest stresses stem from all the legal paperwork and procedures which can be confusing and daunting. British couples need to stay in Ukraine for 3 to 4 months while their babies' passports are being processed - roughly 2 months for Australian couples and 2-4 weeks for American couples. This time will be extended if you do not have precise paperwork and/or have not explicitly followed the correct procedure. Bianca and her husband have set this out for you in an easy to follow structure. This will save you research, time and stress. This Ultimate First Guide to Surrogacy in Ukraine is filled with advice, tips, suggestions on agencies based on happy current and previous clients, useful links, step-by-step legal processes, general FAQ's and even as an added bonus, all-important fertility-based recipes for that extra chance of success.Who is this book for?Married, heterosexual couples (only due to the laws in Ukraine)Mostly British couples as the processes are based around the UK surrogacy laws which will be applicable even when doing surrogacy abroad.Couples from other countries will also benefit from the tips, advice and helpful links, as well as to get a general glimpse of another couple's life during surrogacy in Ukraine. After 8 rounds of IVF and still no baby of their dreams, Bianca and her husband decided on surrogacy in Kiev, which worked first time round.
