Emmeline Pankhurst was a leading political activist who founded the British suffragette movement which helped women earn the right to vote. Pankhurst was often criticized for her militant tactics but she is undoubtedly one of the most important figures in achieving women's suffrage in Britain. My Own Story, published in 1914, is an autobiography which provides rare insight into the life and experiences of one of history's most important women.
