When good natured Charles Western inherits a multi-million-dollar fortune he uses the money to set up a literary magazine. But when the amateur writers he employs conspire against him, he knows he needs help.



 Worldly, daring, and ruthless, Charles's friend Sam, sets about settling scores and righting wrongs, as well helping Charles sweep the girl of his dreams off her feet.

But Sam's daring comes at a cost. Sam soon has Charles in trouble with the university left, three spy agencies on three continents, and most importantly with his nan.
