Created for families/caretakers of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) children who may be experiencing doubt, fear, or anxiety at the start of or during their DHH journey.
This essential guide gives you a general overview of what you as parents may be going through during the journey with your DHH child. Please keep in mind most topics may apply, but some will not. Every child and every family's journey is unique.

Hi there! I'm Dr. Michelle Hu and I am a pediatric audiologist. I grew up in the small town of Kent, Ohio but have called San Diego, California home since 2009. Something unique about me is that I grew up with hearing loss and utilize bilateral cochlear implants. I was likely born with mild hearing loss due to Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct Syndrome (EVAS) in conjunction with Pendred Syndrome.
Dedicated to the children, the little Michelles out there - you GET to grow up supported and loved by your villages.
