The autobiographical account of Rabindranath Tagore, My Boyhood Days gives an insight into the childhood days of Rabindranath Tagore and describes the various relationships he shared with family members and servants in his earlier years. The memoir portrays colonial Calcutta and its inhabitants? way of life and describes the changes it has undergone with time, comparing it with the modern times. Originally written in Bengali as Chhelebela, My Boyhood Days depicts how Tagore was significantly influenced by the household atmosphere in his childhood days, and ended up reshaping the Bengali literature and art.
