Beskrivelse
When observing giant cruise ships serenely plying the oceans and ports all over the world, ever wonder what goes on amongst the officers seeking a casual rendezvous, the ever randy crew looking for love and an American Green Card, and more importantly thousands of inquisitive passengers looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to write home about...
Bruce J Starin, knows all too well about the shenanigans, complaints and bizarre requests coming from the passengers, officers and crew - happily cavorting in the cabins, showrooms, sun decks and certainly the exotic ports-of-call world-wide. Signing on as a Social Director, Bruce was soon promoted to First Officer of Entertainment for the flagship of a major cruise line. Re-naming his famous ship the SS Luna Sea, to protect the innocent as well as the guilty, Starin takes us on a whirlwind no holds barred expose and laugh out loud memoir of the adventures taking pace in the cabins, showrooms, and an occasional brothel in port after port.
After coming ashore Starin docked in Hollywood, where he became a highly respected international television game show consultant, as well as the producer of such classics as The Newlywed Game, The Dating Game, The Gong Show, Let's Make a Deal, and a live version of Wheel of Fortune touring all over the United States and Canada, with a hallowed residency at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas premiering on New Years Eve of the Millennium.
As a "Fly-Away" producer Starin traveled to television stations from Reykjavik, Iceland to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam and worked with an assortment of celebrities just as eccentric as many of the passengers encountered on the cruise ships including Mick Jagger, Joan Rivers, Barbra Streisand, Stacy Keach, George Forman, Buddy Ebsen, Frank Sinatra Jr. and Bob Eubanks.
Perhaps, most importantly within these pages you will find the truth behind the legendary answer to an innocent Newlywed Game question... "Dat be the butt, Bob!"
