Music Theory for Modern Songwriting is meant as a primer for those who want to make music but don't understand the basics. It teaches the structure of music all the way from explaining beat all the way to explaining arrangement and performance.

Included are explanations on the structure of music, beat, rhythm, the timing and pitch of notes, scales, chords, chord progressions, and putting it all together.

Also included is an extensive glossary of musical terms, including explanations of different voices and different ranges of pitch.

This text was written for a 24 course of instruction called "Introduction to Music Theory."
