This book analyzes the municipalities that have been classified from the level of corruption. The subject is the phenomenon of corruption linked to the concepts of public transparency, accountability and main-agent theory, with emphasis on the process of public governance, as a tool for reducing cases of corruption. The methodology is characterized by quantitative research, with the application of Logistics Regression and descriptive analysis. Finally, it was observed, from the descriptive analysis and logistic regression, that the Northeast Region was the one that presented the most cases of corruption, the Northeast and Southeast Regions obtained the highest scores, ten (10.00), gained from reactive transparency, social control is a predictive factor of the level of corruption and the HDI brings a social and economic relationship, being a factor that explains the level of corruption. In this sense, a good HDI is linked to a good performance of the municipalities related to the performance of social control.
