This tender portrayal of the emotional connection among three generations of women opens with a mild argument between Jane and her daughter Heather. Heather, eagerly anticipating the liberation of her upcoming wedding, complains about the constraints of living at home and caring for her mentally failing grandmother. Grandma begins singing the tune to a finger play game and Heather responds with the remainder of the verses and calls for her mother. Jane tearfully recounts how the game has passed through the generations and we observe the tender bond of love among these women.
