Detective Kyle Cooper must solve three murders to prevent a fourth. The only thing connecting these is a bloody textbook, but what does this have to do with anything? The motive appears to be money, but none of the victims had any. The evidence leads to high-stakes illegal gambling, which doesn't fit with the lifestyle of the three dead graduate students.
