Beskrivelse
Moncla was once a bustling port on the Red River in Avoyelles Parish. The history of the area is colorful, filled with steamboats and people. Included are family histories of area citizens and other communities, as Par En Haut and Gum Ridge. Some of the family names are: Cayer, Brouillette, Dupuy, Edwards, Gaspard, Laborde, and Saucier.
