The papers presented in Monarchies and Socio-Religious Traditions in the Ancient Near East were delivered on September 1st, 1983, to the Ancient Near and Middle East section (Section 2) of the XXXIst International Congress of Human Sciences in Asia and North Africa. They include contributions on aspects of historical, religious, social and cultural significance and were made available as a help to specialist studies in Egyptology, Assyriology, Old Testament and related disciplines.
