MOMENTUM: Few Poems and a School Play

Alas, with her virtuous frown With questions did she heave, / "Tell me Sir why green turned brown, Why forests did you thieve? / Tell me Sir why toxic wastes Killed innocent lives in water? / Tell me Sir like deadly cerastes On earth why plastics squatter? / "Tell me why the air to breathe A mask we need to wear? / Tell me why my eyes do seethe When smog replace the air? / Tell me why I have to scare When deadly weapons roar? / Tell me why I feel despair As for oil of earth you bore? / "I asked you how a heaven looks But you have shown me a hell, / Where human beings are chief crooks. Is this the world we dwell? / Is this where our future greets, To be doomed and do penance? / Why should I bear your evils feats And sufferings that you enhance?" ............ This book is a collection of poems and a short play written for middle school students. The poem is written with simple vocabulary, with rhyme and rhythm, on topics viz., concern for environment, respect, philosophy of nature, romance and life. The school play highlights a serious evil in our society all over the world, the wastage of food.
