Beskrivelse
Molecular Biology of Autophagy and Disease provides an in-depth review of current concepts and applied studies in molecular autophagy and pathology research. Here, more than twenty international contributors examine autophagy in healthy physiological conditions, as well as autophagy in cancer, neurodegenerative disease, unfolded protein response, lung disease, heart disease, viral infections, diabetes, and spinal cord injuries. Each chapter considers past research and ongoing efforts to understand the molecular dynamics of autophagy across these diseases, with emphasis on findings from new and evolving research technology, such as microfluidic techniques and high through-put sequencing. This book connects basic research to clinical translation, opening pathways for new research and application, and uniting common themes around the role of autophagy in cellular biology, biochemistry, and developmental biology.
