Mitchie is a young, black Labrador training to become a service dog. Everyone says he will be very successful, but Mitchie doesn't believe them. Will he actually be good enough to assist someone? Eventually, Mitchie is matched with an elderly gentleman named Mel who is visually impaired. How is Mitchie going to help Mel live a fulfilling life?
