A bond with a spider, A misfit noble house, and a terrifying enemy. What more could a girl want?

 

In Elista, it's only once you've been Chosen and Bonded with a Spirit-of-the-Mists that you take your avatar form and gain your true name. But do I end up with a beautiful avatar, like a dove or a swan? Nope. My avatar is a spider and my name is... Legs. You accidentally wear one skin-tight, super-short dress and you end up with a name like Legs for the rest of your life. Also... a spider? Ick.

 

But my name is the least of my problems.

 

Someone is trying to kill me and I have no idea why. The more I dig, the less I like what I find. Mythical beings? A cabal of nobility seeking to undermine Elista? A secret war with another nation. Oh... and I'm fated to stop it or die trying. None of this seems real.

 

Luckily, I have friends willing to help. I may not have been selected to be a part of the most powerful noble house, but the band of oddballs and misfits that took me in are there for me, through thick and thin...

 

And more than a few of these hunks and hotties want to be there for me in an entirely different way, which I have no problem with. If I'm going to die young, I might as well have had some fun first.

 

Now, I just need to stay alive long enough to discover who wants me dead, find love, and save a nation, all at the same time.
