Mental illness forced me to stay hidden until I discovered I was not alone. Then, I removed my mask and realized that there were others just like me. I had missed out on everyday life because I was too ashamed to tell someone I needed help. It took me two decades to realize that I was missing. Nobody knew I was missing, so no one was looking for me.
